David Gring is a man of many hats. He defines his professional career threefold: as a realtor, selling and listing homes and lots in Northwest Indiana; as director of sales for Steiner Homes, Ltd.; and as head coach of the men’s golf team at Valparaiso University.
Always intrigued by the real estate business, and after receiving encouragement from Dan Steiner, David decided to begin his real estate career in 2005. Seven years later, David still considers himself blessed in his decision. “Every customer, every transaction and every property is different,” David said. “Every day is a new day. I enjoy the business people that I work for and the customers that I represent.”
Aside from his real estate career, David also serves as the head coach for the men’s golf team at Valparaiso University. He is a Valparaiso University alumnus, played on the men’s golf team all four years of his collegiate career, and played the amateur tour for two summers in college.
Now in his second year as head coach, David considers it a pleasure and honor to work with the great student-athletes on his team. “I’m blessed in the sense that my players are tremendous athletes and golfers, and they’re excellent students who do very well in the classroom,” David said. He also enjoys recruiting incoming players, traveling to assorted universities and getting the chance to watch his team play on great golf courses.
A Michigan City native, David and his wife moved to Valparaiso fourteen years ago. While David and his wife worked in downtown Chicago, they were living in Schaumburg, IL. “We moved back to the region for a few reasons: the value and price of homes, the Valparaiso School System and the size of the city, with its variety of restaurants and easy access to Chicago,” David explained.
An active member of the community, David and his family attend Calvary Church, where he is the Elder of Men’s Ministries. He is chairman of the Northwest Indiana Youth for Christ Golf Outing, held every summer.
In his spare time, Dave participates in a variety of activities and hobbies. “I thoroughly enjoy getting out to golf with my friends and working in my yard and on my house,” David said, “I really enjoy spending time, traveling and hanging out with my family.”
